Privacy notice

Last updated 13 October 2026 (licence requests added)

Who we are

Altus is a sole trader business in Uppsala, Sweden, and is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: Support@altusnet.org.

When you visit this website

We record the page you visit, the time, the page you came from, your browser and language, and your IP address. We do this to keep the site secure and to understand how it is used (our legitimate interest). We use no cookies for this, and nothing is stored in your browser.

When you request a download

We record the name or company and the email address you give us, the program you asked for, the time and your IP address. We use them to send you the download link and answer your request, and the IP address to prevent misuse. The request is also emailed to us. When you download, we record the time and your IP address against your request.

When you request a licence

We record the name, organisation and email address you give us, the program, whether the computer works offline, the time and your IP address. From the computer ID you paste in we work out the computer code your licence is tied to, and keep only that code – never the ID itself. We use these details to make and send your licence and the download link, and the IP address to prevent misuse. The request is also emailed to us.

When an Altus program checks for updates

We record the computer's IP address, the program and version, the licence number and the time, to provide updates only to licensed users and to protect against misuse.

How the records are kept

All these records are encrypted on our web server. Only Altus can read them, on our own computer. The full IP address is kept for 90 days, after which only its first part is kept. The records are deleted after 24 months. Our web host stores the encrypted records on our behalf; we do not sell or share them with anyone else.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to Support@altusnet.org. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, imy.se).
